The economists such as Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Tim Besley, Nouri El-Roubini, Stephen Roach, Nissim Nicholas Taleb, Rahguram Rajan and Robert Shiller have predicted the present US housing bubble. However, according to centrist economist Paul Samuelson the “Wall Street indices have predicted nine of the last five recessions.”
