The budget to provide the required facilities was less than Rs 50 crore. Remarkably good organization prevented any deaths. Millions of pilgrims fulfilled their dreams. Mission accomplished. Tata Motors' Project Jupiter in the 1980s designed and produced a new light commercial vehicle—the 407—without foreign technology to beat back Japanese competition. It was done in 18 months, a world record. Like the Maha Kumbh Mela, Project Jupiter achieved its goals with excellent project management and teamwork, both of which were missing in the organization of the Delhi CWG.
