In 1998, the legal luminary, Nani A. Palkhiwala donated Rs.12 crore so Sankara Nethralaya could buy Lady Willingdon Hospital in the same neighbourhood and expand. Ratan Tata donated Rs 5.5 crore. Today, the multi-storied blocks equipped with state-of-the-art medical infrastructure are buzzing with patients from across the country and the world.
